Pet Shop Boys: "Format"

Am 3. Februar 2012 werden die Pet Shop Boys die neue Compilation "Format" veröffentlichen. Die Doppel-CD präsentiert 38 B-Seiten und Bonustitel des Electro-Pop-Duos, die zwischen 1996 und 2009 erschienen sind. Alle Songs wurden neu remastered. Dazu enthält das Booklet ein Interview mit Neil Tennant und Chris Lowe, das von Jon Savage geführt wurde (Autor von "England's Dreaming" und "Teenage"). "Format" ist der Nachfolger des 1995 veröffentlichten Albums "Alternative", das die B-Seiten der Pet Shop Boys zwischen 1985 und 1994 zusammengefasst hatte.
Die PET SHOP BOYS zählen seit mehr als 25 Jahren zu den erfolgreichsten englischen Künstlern in der Musikszene. Ihre Songs und Texte sind geistreich, manchmal pompös, aber immer absolut tanzbar und brillant. Allein in Deutschland erhielten Neil Tennant und Chris Lowe drei Platin- und neun Goldauszeichnungen. Zu ihren populärsten Songs zählen neben dem Klassiker "West End Girls" zum Beispiel auch "Surburbia", "It´s A Sin", "Always On My Mind" oder "Go West". Das Duo aus London arbeitet aktuell an dem elften Studioalbum, dessen Veröffentlichung für den frühen Herbst 2012 geplant ist.
